So it seems that Salma Hayek IS in fact a feminist — and we really hope this is her final answer, because we were quite taken aback last year when she said she was not.

"I am not a feminist. If men were going through the things women are going through today, I would be fighting for them with just as much passion. I believe in equality," Hayek said in November 2014 after receiving an award for her work in philanthropy that advances women and equality.

Because we seriously heart the Mexican actor, we would like to believe that when she said the above it was because she didn’t hear the question correctly or maybe she just completely misspoke.

Hey, it happens.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the reporter gave the actress the benefit of the doubt about her comments in the past, and asked what feminism meant to her.

“I am a feminist because I love women and I am ready to fight for women," Hayek answered. "I am a feminist because I am proud to be a woman, and I am passionate about making the world a better place for women. I am a feminist because a lot of amazing women have made me the woman I am today. I am inspired by women every day, as friends and as colleagues.”
