Rosario Dawson is showing up for her community once more. The Puerto-Rican-Cuban actress is taking part in Epix’s upcoming docu-series “America Divided” for a segment on the water crisis in Flint, Mich.
Dawson will profile the citizen-scientists who first revealed that there was lead in the city’s water supply, investigate the alleged cover-up and take a look at the policies behind the decision to switch the water supply from Lake Huron and the Detroit River to the Flint River.
“America Divided,” which is executive produced by Norman Lear, Shonda Rhimes and Common, will feature stories around inequality, with particular attention to education, housing, healthcare, labor, criminal injustice and the political system. Each segment of the four-and-a-half-hour-long series will feature a high-profile correspondent. Among them, Common, America Ferrera, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Peter Sarsgaard and Jesse Williams.
