Rita Moreno’s talent has brought her to many places in Hollywood – and soon, it will award her a great honor. The 81-year-old Boricua actress is set to receive SAG-AFTRA's Life Achievement Award at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Moreno will be the 50th recipient of the award, which is designed to recognized career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment.
In a statement, Ken Howard, SAG-AFTRA’s Co-President, raved about Moreno. “She is an extraordinarily versatile, talented and generous actor whose career is notable for its courageous choices and for the breadth, depth and quality of her many demanding and commanding roles,” part of his statement read. “She is a magnificent actor, and I am honored to join all SAG-AFTRA members in recognizing the incomparable Rita Moreno.”
Incomparable is a fitting word for the actress, who already has an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony under her belt. Oh, and she received her highly deserved Hollywood Walk of Fame star back in 1995. What hasn’t this woman accomplished?
