24-year-old Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal won his sixth Barcelona Open title yesterday, beating his fellow countryman David Ferrer 6-2, and 6-4. Nadal told the Associated Press what it has been like to win in Barcelona six times. “I think it will be difficult to repeat,” he said. “Six years is a long time in the life of a tennis player.”

As he collected his second-place trophy, Ferrer jokingly told the public that he hopes Nadal doesn’t return next year. Nadal became the first player to win two tournaments six or more times in the tour’s Open era.
