Prince Royce Teams Up With Carlito Olivero On 'The X Factor'

Bachata superstar Prince Royce hit the stage with The X Factor finalist Carlito Olivero Wednesday night for a swoonworthy bilingual rendition of “Stand By Me”, the song that originally made Royce famous.

The Dominican superstar teamed up with Olivero in one of his final performances on the show Wednesday night. The final three contestants -- Olivero, Alex & Sierra, and Jeff Gutt  -- all performed duets with pop stars in their genre. For Olivero, it seemed like an obvious choice to team up with Prince Royce, the bachatero he’s often compared to.

For Olivero, the performance signaled the end to the long, arduous road that propelled him to stardom.

“It’s crazy,” he told Fox News Latino. “It’s overwhelming, but bittersweet in a way, because the show is almost over.”

Olivero, who is part Puerto Rican and part Mexican, said making it to the finals was a testament to how much America wants him there. Among his biggest fans is his judge and mentor, Mexican superstar Paulina Rubio

“She was so happy. She said I deserved it,” he said. “She told me America is finally seeing who I am.”

Rubio, however, isn't the only star voicing their support for the young Latino. Multiple celebrities took to Twitter to encourage their fans to vote for Olivero.
