“I’m always recording, always listening to what the world is talking about,” he says.

Some upcoming ventures include an “off the chain” party track with Spanish crooner Enrique Iglesias and a track with Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana.

“The album is just about having a great time,” he told the paper. “With everything that’s going on in the world, the negative things, it allows people to escape.”

Until then, the Cuban rapper is preparing to ring in the New Year at the American Airlines Arena in Miami for the second year in the row. Part of the show will be broadcast live from across the country on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The concert, which will also feature Prince Royce, will be on ABC.

Oh, and Pitbull had one thing to add for the new year: Expect an announcement on New Year’s Day that involves “the world, sports, and music.”

We can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store!
