Pitbull is proving that he's not only a megastar, but he also cares about his community.
According to ColorLines, the Cuban American is preparing to open a charter school in his old Miami neighborhood.
The school is called Sports Leadership and Management (SLAM) and it will be run by Mater Academy (a non-profit) and Academia (a large for-profit).
Pitbull believes investing in this charter school is highly worth it. During an interview with The Washington Post, the rapper explained:
“The simple fact is that teachers have changed my life. I had a second grade teacher that taught me that yeah, there is a way out…and I had an eleventh grade teacher who taught me to believe in myself…and that’s the same thing I want to do with the kids.”
