The legal drama between Pitbull and Lindsay Lohan continues.
Rolling Stone is reporting that the Cuban rapper has now filed a countersuit against the actress over a defamation lawsuit she filed against him.
Back in August, Lohan filed suit against the 30-year-old artist over the lyric “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” in his summer smash hit “Give Me Everything.” This summer, we reported that Stephanie Ovadia, Lohan’s attorney, described Pitbull’s lyric as “destined to do irreparable harm” to her client.
After news broke of Lohan’s lawsuit against him, Mr. 305 said he was surprised and has insisted that he meant no harm through the questionable lyric.
In an interview with Primer Impacto, Pitbull explained what he meant by it. “So when I say ‘I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan,’ I’m basically saying she runs her world… I’m trying to run my world the same way,” he told Univision’s Pamela Silva. “However she moves, whatever she does, people talk about, you know, one way or another.”
In addition, Pitbull has also reportedly questioned whether Lohan is eligible to file a lawsuit in New York. According to Rolling Stone, Lohan has spent most of her time in California recently because of her latest string of legal troubles. The website reports, however, that Lohan claims to be a resident of Nassau County, New York. Pitbull’s countersuit states that “in light of Ms. Lohan's continuing obligations to the State of California, as well as the foregoing facts, Ms. Lohan is a citizen of California, not New York.”
Lohan doesn’t have the most amicable relationship with the law, and according to TMZ, Pitbull’s lawyers have called her out on it. According to the website, the lawyers listed Lohan’s past run-ins with the law, and stated that “given her frequent legal troubles, Ms. Lohan possesses irrevocable ties to California that are likely to keep her there for the foreseeable future.”
