There’s no doubt that ex-Menudo star and mega-producer Robi Draco Rosa has had an incredibly tough year fighting cancer. The heartbreaking news of a tumor inside the 42-year-old musician’s stomach was announced by his publicist earlier this year, and since then, we haven’t heard much from Draco Rosa while he underwent treatment.
Until yesterday, that is.
After a month-long hiatus from Twitter, Draco Rosa posted a photo of himself to his more than 100,000 followers. In the image, the award-winning musician appears incredibly thin and pensive. “The hill of Zion yeilds a thousand sacred sweets before we reach the heavenly fields or walk the golden streets,” Draco Rosa posted with his photo, quoting the late English hymn-writer Isaac Watts.
We’re glad to see Draco Rosa back and hope he still keeps getting healthy. In a statement regarding his diagnosis, Draco Rosa said he received many calls from his extended family and friends who prayed for him to feel better. The musician also spoke to Univision’s Primer Impacto this summer from his home in Utuado, Puerto Rico. “I’m here with a lot of faith,” he told reporter Bárbara Bermudo.
During treatment, Draco Rosa also reportedly said he was lucky to be alive, according to the Latin American Herald Tribune. He told El Nuevo Dia that during treatment, he discovered “a thousand things” about his character and personality that have since changed his life.
We hope Robi gets better soon.
