Paulina Rubio Speaks Out About her Father's Death

Grosby Group

Paulina Rubio took some time to talk to her fans via Twitter for the first time since the tragic and sudden passing of her father Enrique earlier this week.

"I am sad, my father is not physically here with me but his soul lives in me!" she wrote, sharing an honest message about her pain, but also showing a glimmer of hope and faith.

Rubio's father died on Tuesday after suffering fatal kidney failure. Many of the singer's peers have reached out to comfort her, including her ex-nemesis Thalia, who had this to say to the reigning queen of Mexican pop: "We share our prayers and support for Paulina Rubio and her family in this sad moment they are suffering through. It's very hard to say good bye to those who gave us life. We ask God to give the family the strength and light that they need."

Paulina attended her father's funeral in Mexico yesterday and signed off of Twitter noting, "There is so much left to do..." It's true! Rubio has to get back to caring for her newborn Andrea, who wasn't able to join them in Mexico since he doesn't have a passport yet. We're sure she is looking forward to close family time with her baby boy and her hubby Nicolas, who has been by her side non-stop over the last few days doting over his wife—just like he should.

Our condolences go out to the Rubio family.

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
