Paulina Rubio revealed several of her biggest inspirations–but denied any comparisons to the famous divas!

The iconic Mexican singer recently became a judge on the U.S. version of The X Factor. She previously served as a judge on Mexico’s La Voz Kids, alongside Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Rubio divulged that she looks up to American aritst, Madonna–although she refused to be called “Latin Madonna.”

“I’ve admired here since I was a little girl,” she said, and “I love her because she is strong, she’s a warrior.”

Rubio also discussed what it was like to work with with late salsa legend Celia Cruz: “She was so empowering,” she said, “As soon as she stepped onto the set everyone was just smiling.”

Cruz would have been 88-years-old on Monday, and was honored by Google with a doodle.
