Part-Spanish actress Noomi Rapace is on the rise in Hollywood. The 31 year-old actress, known in Sweden for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the original film versions of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest, is heading to the American silver screen in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which opens in theaters tomorrow.
Rapace claims that her Spanish roots helped her prepare for a dancing scene with Jude Law in the newest Sherlock Holmes film installment. “My father was a flamenco dancer in Spain so I think my doing this was meant to be.” Her character, Simza, may even turn into Sherlock Holmes’s new love interest, according to Blogamole.
She also has another highly anticipated film due for release in 2012. Her leading role in the Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller Prometheus will surely put her on the map as a new Hollywood it-girl, who happens to be a Latina.
