#9: Miley Cyrus used her acceptance speech to spread awareness about homeless youth.
When Miley Cyrus won the top honor of the night for "Video of the Year," she sent a young man named Jesse in her place. "I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving and lost and scared for their lives. Jesse directed viewers to Cyrus's Facebook page, which featured information about My Friend's Place, a charity that supports homeless youth in the United States.
