Mother's Day Special: Our Favorite Celebrity Mamis!

Mother’s Day is less than a week away and we are celebrating early by taking a look at our favorite Latina celebrity moms and their advice on motherhood. As if mothers don’t offer enough advice right? Well, a little extra consejos never hurt anyone...

1. Moms: Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba

The Mexican-American actress always looks picture perfect, even when traveling around with her daughters: 7-month-old Haven, and 3-year-old Honor. Alba admits that it can be difficult to balance career, marriage, and motherhood, but she makes it work with her hubby Cash Warren. “You get really comfortable and you don't always make time for each other. You can tend to take each other for granted. So we do try and set aside time at least once a week,” she says.

2. Moms: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez

There’s no doubt J.Lo is one of the hardest working moms in Hollywood. The Boricua pop star will be touring with 4-year-old twins Max and Emme this summer and recently revealed that her tip to being a single mother is counting on her mother Guadalupe from time to time. “Luckily, there’s always Grandma’s house if they get really tired and stir-crazy,” says Lopez. Yes, dropping off the kiddies at abuela’s house sounds like a plan to us!

3. Moms: Thalia

Thalia

The Mexican pop star is the mother of 4-year-old Sabrina Sakäe and 11-month-old Matthew Alejandro. The 40-year-old telenovela star admits that they would have an even bigger family if it were up to her husband, Tommy Mottola. She said during an interview for Hola magazine, “If it was up to him, we would have five kids. He’s the best father I could have imagined.”

4. Moms: Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara

Most men may admire the Colombian bombshell, but no one shows Vergara more love than her 20-year-old son, Manolo, who’s currently filming a behind-the-scenes show about his mom’s life titled, My Life with Toty. The Modern Family star admits that she would love to start a family with her boyfriend Nick Leob, but not anytime soon. "I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs," admitted Vergara for InStyle’s April cover story. Hey, can't waste genes like that!

5. Moms: Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz

Who can forget how perfect Penelope Cruz looked while she was pregnant with her now 1-year-old son, Leo Encinas Bardem? She and husband Javier Bardem are super-private when it comes to their family life. To her, it seems, family is sacred. Last year, Cruz lashed out on a photographer who was snapping pictures of her son without permission. Back off and don’t mess with Mrs. Cruz!

6. Moms: Roselyn Sanchez

The Puerto Rican actress is one of the newest Latina celebrities to make the mamacita list after giving birth to her daughter, Sebella Rose Winter, in January.

The Devious Maids star, who’s married to Eric Winter, took to her Twitter page to spread her joy, “Welcome to the world beautiful Sebella Rose Winter! Mami and Daddy adore you! This joy is overwhelming. Thanks for all of the well wishes!”

7. Moms: Ana Ortiz

Ana Ortiz

The Ugly Betty star and husband, Noah Lebenzon, are proud parents of 3-year-old Paloma Louise and 8-month-old Rafael. They may be busy, but they always make time to keep the romance alive. Ortiz exclusively revealed to Latina.com, “I can’t even tell you the last movie I saw! We’re going to go see a matinee. We’re totally playing hooky.” Playing hooky sounds like a healthy parent tip to us!

8. Moms: Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek

The Mexican actress is all about passing down tradition to her 4-year-old daughter Valentina. During an interview with Access Hollywood Hayek said, “Valentina speaks Spanish perfect, but she also speaks English perfect and French. I’m proud that her first language is Spanish… I can see that she feels very Mexican.”  Wow, a trilingual 4-year-old is definitely a reason to brag, no?

9. Moms: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera

The half-Ecuadorian-American songstress knows a thing or two about being a single mom since her split from husband, Jordan Bratman. She admits that raising her son Max by herself is a challenge at times, but she manages to pull through. Aguilera says, "Some moments are harder than others and there are certain days that definitely are more challenging... I'm under a lot of stuff right now, in so far as my work andbalancing everything as a mom, but my son couldn't be happier; he's growing up with so much love around him.”
