On Saturday night, Miss Venezuela was crowned the 62nd Miss Universe! Gorgeous Gabriela Isler, 25, was awarded the crown after competing with 85 beautiful contestants at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. Originally from Maracay, Venezuela, Isler will serve as Miss Universe for the next year, representing her country–and Latinas–across the globe!

She’s half Venezuelan and half Swiss:
According to The Examiner, Isler owes her gorgeous look to a mixed background. Her father, Juan Isler Lengemann, is Swiss, while her mother is Venezuelan.
She’s not the first Venezuelan beauty to take the crown:
In fact, Isler is the third Venezuelan to win the pageant in six years! The country is quickly becoming renowned for its beautiful women!
She’s an on-air TV talent:
Gabriela Isler began her career as a television host on Venezuela’s Venevision TV! All that on-camera experience will certainly be useful during her year-long stint at Miss Universe!
The Venezuelan beauty holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Marketing.
Gabriela Isler has many talents, including dancing, gift wrapping, and more! She reportedly took flamenco dancing lessons as a child, and has been hooked ever since. Heavy also reported that Isler’s first job was wrapping gifts -- definitely a useful talent for the upcoming holiday season!
She has an adorable nickname:
Isler’s full name is Maria Gabriela de Jesus Isler Morales. That’s quite a mouthful! Luckily, the new Miss Universe has a short-and-sweet nickname. Among her friends and family, she’s called “Molly.”
She earned a nod from the President of Venezuela:
President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela took to Twitter to congratulate Isler. “Congratulations to Maria Gabriela Isler for her victory, which is a triumph for Venezuela! May God Bless You always,” he wrote.
According to her bio on Miss Universe’s website, Isler enjoys spending her free time with her family, particularly her niece! She’s the loving aunt to her sister’s three-year-old daughter.
She offered positive advice during the pageant:
Steven Tyler asked her a tough question: “What is your biggest fear and how do you plan to overcome it?” Poised and gracious, Isler offered an excellent answer that everyone can take to heart. She said, “I have a lot of fears, but nonetheless, this is nothing negative. I believe we should overcome all of our fears and this in turn would make us much stronger and mostly we can become stronger persons.”
She’s a mommy’s girl:
The new Miss Universe claims her mamá is her role model. Despite the adversity she faced growing up, she said her mother stayed strong and always provided for the family.
