Michael Peña and Jake Gyllenhaal were researching with the LAPD for their movie End of Watch on Wednesday night when their ride-along made a turn for the worst.
The two actors and their police officer guides were called to a shooting in South Los Angeles. When they arrived at the scene of the crime, a man was found shot by rival gang members. He was hospitalized with grazing bullet wounds above his lip and on his arm. No arrests were made.
Meanwhile, the incident occurred during an anti-gang event organized by Summer Night Lights, which is making an attempt at reducing the amount of violence in the area.
Peña and Gyllenhaal’s upcoming film is a drama following the relationship between two long-time partners in the LAPD.
