His body, dressed only in black underwear, was reportedly found on the sidewalk; the rest of his clothes found several meters away. A bloody knife was next to Hernández Rodríguez’s body. Luz María Videgaray Rodarte, who accompanied Hernández Rodríguez, was found still alive and taken to a hospital immediately.
This is another tragedy for Montero and his family. In 2010, his older brother Oliver was also killed while driving on the Torreon-San Pedro highway in the Mexican state of Coahuila.
On Thursday, Montero released a statement in response to his makeup artist brother’s death.
“Through this statement I want to express my deepest appreciation for the love, support and prayers,” his statement read. “We have come together as a family: uncles, cousins, brothers and friends to give each other strength to bear the lamentable loss of my brother Javier. At the moment I am processing the paperwork for the ceremony that will take place.”
Our thoughts are with Montero and his family as they endure this extremely difficult time.
