“Yep we just had a wedding in the hospital!” That’s what new dad Nick Cannon tweeted last night, a day after his wife Mariah Carey gave birth to their twins: a baby girl weighing 5 lbs, 3 oz. and a little boy weighing 5 lbs., 6 oz.
Carey and Cannon, who were married in the Bahamas in May of 2008, planned to celebrate their three-year anniversary soon, but when their twins were born, the couple decided to renew their vows in the hospital with their new bundles of joy. "I encourage everybody to do it," Cannon said on his New York radio show on Friday. "If you are happy and in love, celebrate it!"
Cannon added that he’ll be getting Mimi “something very thoughtful and it has nothing to do with money."
“We are just trying to keep the romance alive," Nick said. "That’s all.”
It sounds only fair, especially since Mimi has just given Nick the best present ever: two beautiful babies, one boy and one girl. "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!" Cannon Tweeted Saturday. "I won't ever be able to top this!"
No, no you won't Nick! Congrats to the happy parents.
