One of the pending joint projects for Puerto Rican power couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez was a fashion and lifestyle collection at Kohl’s. Despite their separation, which was announced earlier today via a joint statement, the retail giant plans to launch the line in September. In a statement sent to Latina, a rep for Kohl’s stated:
"To respect the privacy of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, we do not comment on their personal matters. The Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony brands have always been positioned as two separate, distinctive collections that offer high-quality contemporary style for men and women and we look forward to a successful September launch."
The statement is echoed by an interview we conducted with Marc just a few weeks ago, where he explained: “It’s two separate deals; it’s two separate things. I have my line for Kohl’s and she has her line for Kohl’s. And there’s an obvious connection and so in some of the campaigns, we’ll do stuff together. But she has nothing to do with my line and I have nothing to do with her line.”
The couple did, however, shoot a joint ad campaign for the collection with famed photographers Mert and Marcus.
No word on whether their joint reality show Q’Viva: The Chosen has been cancelled, but given that the concept was for them to travel together throughout Latin America this month, it is safe to assume that the show will not air next year as planned.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Marc and J.Lo separation.
