It appears no one is safe from the cutting room floor when it comes to icon Madonna, and that includes her daughter Lourdes Leon. The duo, who already have fashion line Material Girl together, seemed to be working with one another again on Madonna’s film W.E. which is set to be released tomorrow.
W.E. tells the story of the love affair between Wallis Simpson and Prince Edward of Britain who abdicated his throne so that he could marry Simpson. The part of young Wallis Simpson went to Lourdes, but it is a film debut that will never be witnessed by the public according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I just kind of dragged her in at the last minute. It was quite unfair of me what I did and what I asked her to do,” revealed Madonna about removing her daughter’s part. “But she was really great and then I ended up cutting her out of the film. Ruthless, I know. I said, ‘Sorry babe, you’re on the cutting room floor.’ She took it like a champ.”
W.E. comes out in theatres February 3rd, conveniently right before Madonna will take to the stage at the Super Bowl.
