The LPGA tour, or Ladies Professional Golf Association tour, is currently underway. We’re shining a spotlight on three of the ladies of the tour – check them out!
This pro comes from Pamplona, Spain, and started playing golf at the age of 11. She turned pro in 2005, and is the 2010 winner of the CVS Pharmacy LPGA Challenge. Fun facts? Her boyfriend is her caddy and her favorite meal is Spanish paella, from her father's restaurant in Spain (yum!).
Mozo grew up in Cadiz, Spain and graduated from USC in 2010. She went pro in 2010 and joined the tour in 2011. Dating a Colombian professional tennis player (Robert Farah), this golfer chica had a Rookie year best finish, where she tied for fifth place at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in 2006. If she wasn't a professional golfer, she would probably becoem a fashion designer. (Heidi, are you listening?)
A 2009 Arizona State University graduate, Munoz grew up in San Pedro de Alcantara in Southern Spain in a family of professors. She's a fan of Dancing With the Stars (Hi, William Levy!) and most recently won the final match of the 2012 Sybase Match Play Championship and became a Rolex First-Time Winner on the LPGA Tour. Munoz clinched her first LPGA victory after she halved the 17th hole with Candie Kung.
Despite playing with a heavy heart after the passing of her grandmother the week prior, Munoz managed to win six matches to capture the title and the $375,000 first-place prize.
