Selena Gomez has been wearing her purity ring less and less and her parents are worried that she might do something she will regret with her new beau Justin Bieber.
Gomez has been wearing the ring as a symbol of her decision to abstain from sex until marriage since she was 12-years-old. The ring is engraved with the quote, "True love waits." But, as we all know from Bieber's chatty Rolling Stone interview, her 17-year-old boyfriend doesn't necessarily believe in abstinence until marriage, telling the magazine: "I think you should just wait for the person you're...in love with."
Selena's parents are reportedly worried, and understandably so—Gomez's mother Mandy Teefy became pregnant with her daughter when she was just 15 and clearly does not want Selena to make the same mistake.
"Selena's family thinks the world of Justin and isn't opposed to them dating," a source told the National Enquirer. "But they're very conservative people and they'd be heartsick if she did something with him that she'd later regret." We don't think they really have much to worry about, they've clearly done a fantastic job raising their daughter and she's 18, she's going to start making her own decisions sooner or later. How fast kids grow up!
Speaking of growing up, Selena looks mature and gorgeous in her video for her latest single "Who Says," which we're absolutely loving! Check out an extended sneak peek below:
