Jose Canseco: Madonna "Wanted a Cuban Child"

Adding a few more logs to the fire in the Madonna/Alex Rodriguez scandal, former Yankee Jose Canseco has stepped forward with claims that the Material Girl begged him to impregnate her because "she wanted a Cuban child."

The ball player, who has said of A-Rod that he "hates his guts" for hitting on his wife back when they were teammates, alleges to Us Weekly that Madonna tried to seduce him in 1991, even though he was married at the time. He says he first met the pop icon when her "people" approached him and set up a meeting at her L.A. home. Jose recalls: "We went downstairs [at her house in the Hollywood Hills] and she came over and said, 'What would you do if I kissed you?' and then sat on my lap and kissed me."

Jose claims he resisted Madge's come-ons because he was married at the time, and told her "if I left her I would lose a lot of money and she said, 'I have lots of money. Don't worry about that'."

He was able to resist her advances, but the two remained "friends" for several months thereafter. However, unlike A-Rod, who came to believe he and Madonna were soulmates, Jose was under no delusion as to why the singer was interested in him. "I'm Cuban 6-foot-3, athletic, built and she wanted to have a Cuban child."

Several years later, Madonna got her wish when she hooked up with personal trainer Carlos Leon, who fathered her daughter Lourdes. Looks like Madonna's "Isla Bonita" is Cuba, after all.
