Jennifer Lopez + performance = yet another controversy.
According to Fox News Latino, the Boricua superstar has been hit with anger after earning a cool $1.5 million for performing three songs and singing “Happy Birthday” to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the dictator of Turkmenistan, a Turkic state in Central Asia partly bordered by Afghanistan and Iran.
In a report, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has called out 43-year-old J.Lo for her history of “serenading crooks and dictators from Eastern Europe and Russia.”
The organization estimated that the superstar has earned in excess of $10 million for her gigs.
Among the performances listed by the Human Rights Foundation include:
1.) A July 2011 performance for which Lopez was paid $1 million to perform at the wedding of Uzbek industrialist Azam Aslanov’s son’s wedding.
2.) In September 2012, the Bronx-bred diva was booked by the dictatorship of Azerbaijan (located at the border of Europe and Asia) to perform at a FIFA soccer tournament.
