Like Madonna in her day, Jessica Alba may try her hand at acting in a David Mamet Broadway play this spring, reports the New York Post. Jessica's part (if she signs on) would be the same one Madonna played back in 1988, that of a ditsy secretary in a Broadway revival of Speed-the-Plow, Pulitzer-winning Mamet's biting satire of Hollywood life. The role could pair her onstage with Sopranos veterans James Gandolfini and Michael Imperioli. The only issue: is Jessica's acting up to par? Mamet is one of this generation's greatest playwrights, and Jessica...well, let's just say her performance in Good Luck Chuck wasn't quite Oscar material! Back when Madonna played the role, she was pretty much mauled by critics...we wonder if Jessica would face the same?
