Looks like her work as the Dark Angel paid off...

Jessica Alba revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that she connected with her "dark side" to reprise her role as Nancy Callahan in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.  Alba, 33, plays an exotic dancer with a taste for revenge in the prequel to 2005's Sin City, based on a series of graphic novels.

"I just really connected with the dark side of Nancy," she told fans at the pop-culture convention. "It was hard to detach from that until the movie was over."

Frank Miller, who wrote the graphic novels and co-directed the film alongside Robert Rodriguez, told fans that he was unaware the role made such an impact upon Alba's personality.

"I haven't seen her in eight years, how did I piss her off?" he joked.

Alba told the crowd that she worked with an acting coach and choreographer before production, which was shot mainly in front of green screens. "The second time, I felt comfortable. I felt like a woman," she said of filming the second movie.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For hits theaters August 22nd! Can't wait 'til then? Catch a sneak peek of Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan.
