Jennifer Lopez’s empire continues to grow. We have reported on the numerous projects piled onto the Puerto Rican superstar’s plate this year, including returning to American Idol, two new film roles, and a family dramedy project she is executive-producing with Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta. Now, 42-year-old Lopez has a new project up her sleeve – and this one appeals to a younger demographic.
According to Hispanic Ad, Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican Productions, plans to launch a digital video series for teenagers and young adults. The series, which will be titled Tiger Beat Entertainment, is a partnership with Believe Entertainment Group (a New York-based entertainment company) and teen magazine Tiger Beat. Lopez, her business partner Simon Fields, and Believe Entertainment Group will co-executive produce the series, which is “for, about, and by teens and young adults.” The series will include news about celebrities, television, film, music, and social media trends, and be distributed through AOL
Fields said Nuyorican Productions was excited to provide its audience with a “unique online experience.”
“Jennifer has long been a trendsetter in all areas of lifestyle and entertainment,” Fields continued, “and this will afford her the opportunity to bring her expertise to social networks and the new media space in a big way.”
