Don't be surprised if you see Jennifer Lopez's name on a Broadway marquee soon! The boricua star has been spotted attending the Lin-Manuel Miranda-conceived hit musical In the Heights twice in the past week, and now there are whispers that she's in talks to star in the show.
An insider tells Page Six that Lopez recently discussed potential roles for herself in Heights with the show's producer, Meryl Poster, over dinner at Nobu 57 in Manhattan. But another source suggests that Lopez isn't too keen on the daily grind of a theater stint and would be more open to starring in its impending movie adaptation (Are they talking about the same workaholic, super-multitasking Jennifer Lopez we know?!?).
Lopez's rep, of course, denies it all, telling the gossip column that her client "loves the play but is not Broadway bound." If that's the case, we hope Lopez reconsiders--after all, what has she got to lose by starring on Broadway? If it gave Diddy and Katie Holmes acting credibility and transformed Mario Lopez into a bachelor-ific sensation, the sky's the limit for Mrs. Marc Anthony.
