Most contestants audition for American Idol with dreams of Hollywood stardom, a platinum record, or a #1 hit single. But, this Nashville hopeful had a very different aspiration: a slow-dance with Jennifer Lopez.
The unnamed season 14 contestant wasted no time getting to the point. When he walked into the audition room, he immediately asked the 45-year-old Boricua for a dance. Lopez initially refused, because she said her heels were "really high." (Please, J.Lo. Work it.) Eventually -- with a little prodding from the contestant and her fellow judges -- she gave in, and slow-danced with the American Idol hopeful to a rendition of "Stay With Me."
At first, the contestant tried to hold Lopez at a distance, but she quickly corrected him. "This is how you slow-dance," she said, as she placed her hand behind his neck. "You're trying to be a gentleman? No."
Fellow judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. even joined in on the fun. Urban picked up his guitar and belted the Sam Smith tune, while Connick Jr. accompanied the dancers on piano.
"Oh, thank you," Lopez said as the dance ended. "This is so sweet. That's the most fun I've had in months."
