Jenni Rivera, who is known for never holding back her opinions, may bring that same honesty to a new talk show. En El Brasero reports that the Mexican American Banda Queen, who shared our May cover with her daughter Chiquis, reportedly signed a contract with Estrella TV to star in her own talk show. El Show de Jenni Rivera, is set to start October 10 and Rivera is aiming high; she told the website that her goal is to become “the Mexican Oprah Winfrey.”
We aren’t sure how the talk show will work out, but if we know anything about Rivera, we know it will be entertaining. The 42-year-old banda singer has a lot on her plate right now—she just re-signed a lucrative contract with Universal Records and will perform her new single Basta Ya for the first time at the Los Angeles’ Staples Center this Saturday. The single is off her new album, Joyas Prestadas (Borrowed Jewels). According to Tr3s, Rivera’s performance will mark history because she will be the first female regional Mexican artist ever to play there.
