It's widely known that the new Brazil-set animated movie, Rio (in theaters April 15th) boasts A-list talent like George Lopez, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx and Jesse Eisenberg. But what you may not know is that the man responsible for the movie's gorgeous tropical sounds and caribbean music is the iconic, Brazilian-born composer Sergio Mendes.
Mendes, who is responsible for five songs on the movie's soundtrack, recently spoke about scoring the film, which he thinks is fantastic. "The film is such a celebration of Brazilian life, of Carnival, the nature, the rhythms, the joy, the sensuality," he told Billboard.com, before adding, "It's nicely timed with my record."
