Tyler G. Posey
The Maid in Manhattan cutie is now a full-fledged leading man, starring in the hit MTV series Teen Wolf. The third season of the drama, which aired earlier this year, gave us a glimpse of Posey’s true acting abilities, as his character Scott McCall plunged into a dark battle with a terrifying new foe.
Derbez made waves this year not for his acting...but his filmmaking! He starred in and directed the breakout comedy of 2013 -- Instructions Not Included, one of the funniest, most heartfelt films of the year.
Consuelos channeled his inner-Marco Rubio this year for his take on a Republican Senator in Amazon’s series Alpha House. We couldn’t get enough of Sen. Andy Guzman or Mark Conseulos in 2013!
Slowly but surely, Michael Trevino has solidified himself as one Mexican actor to be on the lookout for. He really turned up the heat in 2013 as Tyler Lockwood on the Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
Mexican actor Demián Bichir had an outstanding 2013, starring in the FX drama The Bridge, taking on roles in big-budget flicks the Heat and Machete Kills, and proving himself to be more than just a sexy face.
Let’s be real: Law & Order SVU is a TV staple for 20-somethings, and every single one was crushing hard on Danny Pino’s character Detective Nick Amaro.
Gael Garcia Bernal
Gael Garcia Bernal starred in one of the best movies of the year....that no one is talking about. No, which hit American theaters in 2013, follows an ad executive, played by Bernal, as he devises a campaign to defeat Augusto Pinochet in Chile’s 1988 referendum. The movie was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, and it brilliantly showcases Bernal’s acting chops.
Mexican actor Diego Luna starred in the futuristic blockbuster Elysium, alongside Hollywood heavyweight Matt Damon. Additionally, Luna stepped out of his acting shoes and took on an ambitious project, producing and directing Chavez, a biopic about Cesar Chavez that’s set to be released in 2014.
Martin had a wonderful year, judging The Voice Australia, writing his first children’s book, and releasing a hot, new single titled “Come With Me.” Plus, we had plenty of time to be a loving papá to his adorable little boys, Matteo and Valentino.
Jake T. Austin
The 19-year-old actor -- best known as Selena Gomez’s little brother on Wizards of Waverly Place -- came into his own this year, tackling the role of Jesus Foster on The Fosters. It’s clear that the talented Puerto Rican has an illustrious career ahead of him!
The Cuban-American actor has been in Hollywood for decades, taking on small roles in Weeds, Law & Order SVU, and more. Díaz proved he was more than a background actor when he took on the challenging role of Huck on the show everyone was talking about in 2013 -- Scandal.
We hadn’t seen much of Hernandez since he first wowed audiences with his role in 2001’s Crazy/Beautiful. He reminded us just how talented he is in 2013 with his three-episode stint at Dante Rivas on Nashville. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more of him in the coming year!
Little Rico from Hannah Montana stripped his squeaky-clean Disney Channel image this year with his dark roles as Biaggio in indie-hit The Kings of Summer and Bonzo Madrid in sci-fi blockbuster Ender’s Game. He had a fantastic 2013...and we’re expecting an even bigger 2014.
