It's been a heartwreching year...
Couples we always thought would last a lifetime announced their divorced. Countless stars ended their engagements. And teenage romances came to a bitter and cruel end. Prepare to have your heartbroken! These celebrities all ended their relationships in 2014:
1. William Levy & Elizabeth Gutierrez
In a statement to People En Español, the telenovela hunk asked for privacy during this difficult time. "Any decision we make as a couple is between us," he told the magazine. "I only ask for respect for her and for my child."
Levy, 34, and Gutierrez, 35, met on the set of Protagonista de Novela 2 in 2003. They began dating, and welcomed a son in 2006 and a daughter in 2010.
Gutierrez has not made an official comment on the separation, although she did post a mysterious status on Twitter: "Never regret anything especially if you did it for love."
2. Juan Pablo Galavis & Nikki Ferrell
It's not okay: Juan Pablo Galavis and his chosen one, Nikki Ferrell split in October of 2014, just six months after the finale of The Bachelor. The reality TV stars just couldn't make it work — and many believe that Galavis' inability to say "I love you" caused the rift in their relationship.
3. Tyler Posey & Seana Gorlic
4. Gael Garcia Bernal & Dolores Fonzi
5. Ricky Martin & Carlos Gonzalez
After three years of dating, Ricky Martin and Carlos González called it quits in January of 2014. On January 2, a representative for the singer shared the unhappy news: "Ricky and Carlos have mutually agreed to end their relationship, but continue to be united by friendship and their shared experiences."
6. J.R Martinez & Diana Gonzalez-Jones
J.R. Martinez and Diana Gonzalez-Jones called it quits in January 2014, just 18 months after the birth of their daughter, Lauryn Anabelle. "Diana and I have ended our relationship," he said at the time. "However, we are committed to working together to raise our daughter in a healthy and happy environment."
7. Marc Anthony & Chloe Green
8. Naya Rivera & Big Sean
In April 2014, Naya Rivera and Big Sean ended their six-month engagement. The dirty breakup involved rumors of cheating, stealing, and jealousy, although neither the Glee actress nor the rapper commented publicly on why the engagement ended.
Despite the nasty split, both stars moved on with their lives. Rivera married Ryan Dorsey in a secret ceremony earlier this summer, and Big Sean all-but-confirmed his romance with Ariana Grande at the 2014 Video Music Awards in late August.
9. Sofia Vergara & Nick Loeb
Sofia Vergara announced that she and her fiancé of two years, Nick Loeb, split up in May of this year. "We are still very close, but we [believe this] is the best thing for us right now," she wrote.
10. Jennifer Lopez & Casper Smart
Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart separated in June of this year, after two years of dating. Despite Lopez's burgeoning romance with Dancing With The Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the exes have remained friendly since their split, and even shared a bag of Skittles at the 2014 Video Music Awards.
11. Antonio Banderas & Melanie Griffith
After 18 years of marriage, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith filed for divorce in June 2014, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation. In the weeks following the heartbreaking separation, Griffith attempted to disguise her infamous "Antonio" tattoo, and Banderas enjoyed the single life in St. Tropez.
12. Elizabeth Vargas & Marc Cohn
13. Bella Thorne & Tristan Klier
Bella Thorne and her boyfriend, Tristan Klier, split in August 2014 after three years together. The 16-year-old actress took to Twitter to confirm the news. When a fan asked if she still was still with Klier, she responded, "no i'm not."
