Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity' Sets October Opening Record

Alfonso Cuaron's film Gravity has soared to new box office heights!

According to Fox News Latino, Gravity debuted with $55.6 million in domestic ticket sales, making it the biggest October opening in history.

"It's all good news," said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution.

"It's never been seen before, visual effects like this," Fellman said. "Just the space shots are mind-boggling. It looks like you're right there."

USA Today reports that Cuaron's space film beat out the October debut record of Paranormal Activity 3, which opened to $52.6 million in 2011.
