Freddie Prinze Jr. Reveals Why He Almost Quit Acting For Good

FOX

Is this the reason Freddie Prinze Jr. disappeared from the screen?

The former teenage heartthrob told ABC News that working with Kiefer Sutherland on TV thriller 24 almost led him to quit acting altogether.

"I did 24, it was terrible," he said while at Comic-Con promoting his new Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels. "I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped."

"Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world," Prinze Jr., 38, continued. "That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."

The fighting words continued when Prinze Jr. took aim at Sutherland's diminutive stature. "I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE, for Christ's sake... but at least he was cool and tall. I didn't have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do [at 24.] Just put the guy on an apple box or don't hire me next time. You know I'm 6 feet and he's 5'4."

These days, Prinze Jr. prefers to keep a low-profile, and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and two children, Charlotte and Rocky. Last year, he guest starred on an episode of Witches of East Endbut he remains focused on his work as a producer and director for WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

Thanks a lot, Kiefer. Would you like to see more of Freddie on TV?
