That’s right, ladies! Pitbull (a.k.a Armando Christian Perez) is Latina’s June/July cover model, headlining our Hot Guys Issue, dedicated to all the sexy Latinos we’re crushing on this summer (from Enrique Iglesias to Eduardo Cruz). As Mr. Worldwide himself would say: ¡Que rico!
The Cuban American music sensation, 30, is set to release his hotly anticipated studio album Planet Pit on June 21st. Check out these exclusive outtakes from our interview with Pit, who’s hard at work transforming himself from Mr. 305 into a global brand. We even asked him what turns him on. ¡Dale!

On learning from the best:
The best student knows when to listen and learn. I don’t attack with questions. I observe. Whether it’s Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Emilio Estefan, Gloria, Diddy—I’ve watched how they handle their business and I’ve taken that and applied it to everything that I’ve got going on. I learned how to give people what they want and at the same time give them what I want to give them.
On being raised by a strong Cuban woman:
My mother [Alysha Acosta] is a very educated person, and she would embed in me everything that she could. She taught me how to be strategic, detallista. Starting in the fifth grade, she started playing [self-help guru] Anthony Robbins tapes to me on the way to school. I’d be like, ‘C’mon, mom, let me listen to the radio!’ but I couldn’t touch her radio because it was her car. After a while, I started listening and it subliminally got to me. It taught me that the mother of all success is failure. There’s nothing wrong with falling, with missing a shot. In fact, if you get it right the first time, you better run the other way, cause something’s wrong!
On how he sees the opposite sex:
For every strong man, there’s a stronger woman. A man has an ego and he’s territorial. A woman can’t forget, but she’ll forgive. As long as you let her make the decision, you’ll always have a good relationship with a woman. And women hate looking stupid; they hate to play the dummy in any situation. I’ve f*cked up and I’ve learned from my f*ck ups. What I learned was that if you speak to a woman straight from the heart, with honesty, that’s your best friend for life.
On paying attention to details:
I remember my mother getting ready for two hours, getting her outfit, the right lipstick, doing the hair, and then coming home and being like, ‘Can you believe this guy didn’t even compliment me on my hair?’ That’s why now every time I see a woman, I compliment her.
On what rocks his world…in bed!
I like a little bit of aggression. It’s almost like a car with a clutch. You have to know when to switch it over. You feel it— the body tells you when to go harder or go softer, or nibble, bite, scratch, pull, spank.
On raising his four kids with good values:
My kids are all characters. It’s crazy to watch a young mind and what a sponge it is. Sometimes my son will be like, ‘Are we going in the Benz or the Beamer?’ And I’m like, ‘Hey, it’s the white car or the silver car, OK? And what do you have to do to get something like this? Work hard. Because I’m not going to give it to you.’ I tell them that my job is to be out here and their job is to go to school.
