La La Anthony

As busy as she is, La La Anthony always puts her son Kiyan first before all else, which is what we love most about her. You can tell the TV personality/businesswoman has her priorities straight on her VH1 show La La’s Full Court Life – in between her gigs and commitments, she’s right beside her son.

Shakira’s 10 Funniest Moments on 'The Voice' in GIFs

Shakira and The Voice are like an arepa con queso—the perfect combination. As a Voice judge, the Colombian super rockera is charismatic, engaging, insightful and more adorable than puppies on marshmallow clouds (coño, we’re getting hungry now). But we digress. Shakira has also provided viewers with some of the funniest facial expressions on The Voice ever. Here we provide proof in GIFs. Enjoy and share before tonight's first live show!

Commentary: Latinas Are Either Saints or Whores, According to New Movie

The Big Wedding movie poster

I’m one of those girls who’s a sucker for romantic comedies. Yes, I said it. I simply love any movie that takes a couple who just can’t seem to get their act together and ends with them finding their happily ever after.

I don’t care if the plot is kind of silly. I don’t care if the acting is awful. I don’t even necessarily care that the dialogue is dry and the chemistry isn’t ideal. I just want to see that love-conquers-all finale that always brightens my day and puts a smile on my single-girl-in-the-city face.

The 12 Funniest Cinco de Mayo Internet Memes Ever!

Cinco de Mayo has become quite the controversy. Seeing non-Latinos walking around plastered and wearing sombreros every May 5 is annoying. Having to educate folks about it marking Mexico's short-lived victory over the French back in 1862 is exhausting. Which is why we invite you to sit back, relax and let the Internet gods do the talking for you.

What would we do without somecards? They’re the perfect pick-me-ups on Monday mornings and never fail to read our minds. We couldn’t have said this one better. I mean, seriously. Does the town of Puebla even celebrate Cinco de Mayo anymore?

10 Superheroes You Never Knew Were Latino

Robert Downey Jr. can’t have all the fun. The Hollywood A-Lister becomes our favorite metal head again in Iron Man 3, which hits theatres this weekend, but we thought a couple of our Latino superheroes could hitch a ride. If Iron Man can’t save the day, this squad will have his back.

Spider-Man

Real Name: Miles Morales

Roots: Cuban and African American

First Appearance: August 2011

Spidey’s multi-culti makeover wasn’t a hit with everyone. Media loudmouths Lou Dobbs was appalled by Spider-Man’s new biracial identity and Glenn Beck accused Marvel of drawing Morales in the likeness of Barack Obama. Although this was the first time Spider-Man was African American, it wasn’t his first Latino incarnation. In 1992, Marvel developed 2099, a comic series set over 100 years in the future, and introduced Spiderman 2099, Mexican and Irish geneticist Miguel O’Hara.
