Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes: A History of Their Drama With Brandi Glanville

It’s a tried and true tale that sometimes happens when boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and, unfortunately, boy already has a wife. Throw in two kids, media spotlight, and the modern age of Twitter, and readers are treated to a swirling vortex of love triangle drama fit for a high school farce.

If this all sounds a bit ridiculous, you may be right, but that does not make the craziness unfolding between the currently married Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes and Cibrian’s ex-wife, baby mama, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville any less real. With all of the recent drama, we thought it seemed like the right time to take a look back and see how all of the madness began.

1. Eddie/Brandi/LeAnn Feud: Book

Brandi Glanville isn't holding back intimate details of her marriage to Eddie Cibrian in her new memoir, Drinking and Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders. The 40-year-old reality television star admits that the former couple would have "the most passionate sex" after getting into heated arguments. After she had kids, Brandi revealed, "I would ask Eddie from time to time if my vagina was the same after childbirth. He always said yes, except once." She confessed, "He was actually quite vulgar."

Her payback? Brandi decided to have vaginal rejuvenation surgery and had Eddie fork the $12,000 bill for it. She sure left us speechless...

2. Eddie/Brandi/LeAnn Feud: Brandi & LeAnn

LeAnn Rimes is setting the record straight about recent rumors claiming that she was crying in public over her drama with Brandi Glanville. "Boys and girls, I was not crying yesterday at lunch w/ Darrell Brown, Eddie Cibrian, my BFF Liz, and my little dog Toto," she wrote on the micro-blogging site, according to Us Weekly. "We ate and hugged goodbye." Yes, can we try to keep it as drama free as possible?

3. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Affair

An Affair Brandi Would Rather Forget

The whole controversy began in early 2009 when rumors started erupting about a potential romance between Northern Lights co-stars Cuban actor Eddie Cibrian and famed country singer LeAnn Rimes. What made the story extra juicy was that both parties were married at the time, Cibrian to Brandi Glanville and Rimes to Dean Shermet. The whisperings turned out to be true and by the end of that year both marriages had ended. After the divorces were finalized, 2010 ended with Cibrian down on one knee and Rimes saying yes!

4. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Peace

The War Was Over, Or So We Thought

Despite word that Rimes and Glanville were creating secret Twitter accounts aimed specifically at attacking one another, in 2011 the Twitter bickering between the two females seemed to fizzle out, if only for a brief moment. The ladies called a truce proclaiming that the public animosity would come to an end.

“As a collective unit, Brandi and I would like all negativity to cease toward one another,” Rimes wrote via Twitter. “We have communicated and have a direct understanding that we are ONLY ourselves on Twitter and have no other accounts that try to destroy one another. Please for our families' sake stop the hate now and let us live OUR lives. We don't need opinions or outside help in order for that to happen."

Glanville retweeted the statement.

5. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Email

You’ve Got Threatening Mail

As genuine as the call for a ceasefire may have been at the time, did fans truly think the fight had ended? We certainly didn’t! Late in 2011 Glanville directly brought ex-hubby Cibrian into the mix accusing him of sending her threatening emails.

“Any divorce lawyers wanna give me some advice on a threatening email? It’s like he is punishing me cuz he lost his job!” Glanville tweeted to fans referring to the emails and the recent cancelation of Cibrian’s new show The Playboy Club.

When asked to comment on the allegations, Rimes for once held her tongue replying with a short message that claimed public means are not proper ways to communicate private family matters and that fans should not jump to conclusions since they are not aware of the entire story.

6. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Rehab

Rimes Goes to Rehab, Is Brandi Her Disease?

Following legal issues surrounding Rimes, a third party, a secretly recorded conversation, and cyber bullying, the singer voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility at the end of August 2012.

“LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress,” Rimes’ rep, Marcel Pariseau, stated about her choice. “While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

Could this stress and anxiety also have something to do with her tumultuous relationship with Glanville? It certainly couldn’t have helped.

7. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: My Boys Tweet

Rimes Riles With “My Boys” Tweet

On November 30, 2012, Rimes sent a seemingly innocent blurb via her Twitter account stating, “Flying out with my boys in a few hrs. Love that it's a family tour weekend. It's always more fun when they are with me."

This would become the tweet heard around the world and the real fuel to reignite the Rimes and Glanville feuding fire.

8. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Sons

Brandi Tweets Concerning Stepmom Insincerity

On December 1 it became obvious via her own Twitter account that the Real Housewives star did not take too kindly to Rimes labeling the sons Glanville has with Cibrian, Mason and Jake, her boys, and she fired back with a few scathing remarks, “Someone is trying 2 get under my skin by calling MY children 'her boys' Sooo transparent! They R MY boys, Eddie Boys and ur step-sons... 4 now." Yikes!

9. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Laxatives

Brandi’s Not Lax About Laxatives, Or LeAnn

Several days after making it clear that her sons are not Rimes’ sons, Glanville, in her own no holds barred fashion, let the insults fly in a piece by Us Magazine. In the interview, Glanville claimed that she is forced to resort to reaching out to her ex publicly since he refuses to acknowledge her privately.

The Bravo star also attacked Rimes’ parenting skills claiming that her sons are not safe with their unbalanced stepmom, "I, unfortunately, don't find her to be stable and I don't want her around my kids when Eddie's not there -- or at least the nanny, his parents, someone," Glanville says of Rimes. "Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le's candies and got extremely ill. And Le's candies are laxatives. It was a big f--king deal for me, and I lost my mind."

10. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Cibrian Mad

Cibrian Fights Fire With Fire

In the eyes of Cibrian it seems as though his ex-wife finally took it too far in her bashing of Cibrian’s current wife. Following the publication of her Us Magazine interview, Radar Online released an email Cibrian sent to Glanville prior to her rant to the magazine.

Cibrian defends Rimes and finally fires off some insults of his own, “I know your life exists solely for the purpose of living and creating drama. It’s a sad way to live. It’s so obvious that you have to constantly mention my wife so people will care what comes out of your mouth.” Later, Cibrian makes references to Glanville’s narcissism and drinking and begs that she, “Grow up already and for once, PUT THE KIDS FIRST!”

11. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: E! Interview

Brandi Dubs LeAnn’s Interview Highly Hypocritical

After a special sit down on E! that Rimes did with interviewer Giuliana Rancic, Glanville was not happy – surprise, surprise. Considering the fact that Cibrian does not allow his two sons to appear even in the background of their mother’s reality show, Glanville found the fact that boys Mason and Jake were featured in the interview hypocritical.

“My kids can be on [an] E news special apparently but not in the background of the show I am on?" Glanville took to Twitter letting off steam. “Amazing!”

12. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Mansion

New Year, Same Drama

Twitter junkies witnessed a brief hiatus in the feuding between the trio during the holiday season, but once the new year came and went all bets were off. Clearly sick of the many tweets from Rimes’ account regarding her Cabo San Lucas trip with her husband and stepsons, Glanville, always larger than life, tweeted on January 3, “Ok I’m super excited my kids are moving into a mansion but I want to throw up in my mouth and swallow it – having to keep hearing about it.”

We’re not going to lie Glanville, we’re a little sick of hearing about the whole dispute ourselves, but it’s like a train wreck you can’t look away from, and if the next few years are anything like the past few, there will be plenty more crashing and clashing to come!

13. Eddie/LeAnn/Brandi Drama: Wedding Dress

Brandi Donates Her Wedding Dress

So much for saying yes to the dress! Two years after her divorce to Eddie, Brandi decided to donate her wedding dress to a future army wife. “I still haven't heard about who received it. I hope it makes someone very happy,” wrote the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, according to Us Weekly.
