It’s a tried and true tale that sometimes happens when boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and, unfortunately, boy already has a wife. Throw in two kids, media spotlight, and the modern age of Twitter, and readers are treated to a swirling vortex of love triangle drama fit for a high school farce.

If this all sounds a bit ridiculous, you may be right, but that does not make the craziness unfolding between the currently married Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes and Cibrian’s ex-wife, baby mama, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville any less real. With the recently reignited Twitter feud between Rimes and Glanville heating up the internet, we thought it seemed like the right time to take a look back and see how all of the madness began.

An Affair Brandi Would Rather Forget

The whole controversy began in early 2009 when rumors started erupting about a potential romance between Northern Lights co-stars Cuban actor Eddie Cibrian and famed country singer LeAnn Rimes. What made the story extra juicy was that both parties were married at the time, Cibrian to Brandi Glanville and Rimes to Dean Shermet. The whisperings turned out to be true and by the end of that year both marriages had ended. After the divorces were finalized, 2010 ended with Cibrian down on one knee and Rimes saying yes!
