The Orange Is the New Black and Jane the Virgin star was cast as a series regular on the second season of CBS’s Superior Donuts, starring Judd Hirsh (as Arthur Przybyszewski) and Jermaine Fowler (as Frank Wicks).
In case you haven't seen it, Superior Donuts is set in a gentrifying Chicago nabe, and Hirsh’s character is an old school shop owner who’s coping with an energetic Frank, an employee who's eager to make changes and give the place some modern flavor.
Enter Guerrero as Sofia, a young, hip, adorable Uptown gentrifier with the audacity to park her food truck in front of Arthur's donut shop—and serve healthy, socially conscious breakfast goodies.
On the surface, Sofia appears to be an entitled millennial but leave it to Guerrero, who penned the moving memoir In The Country We Love: My Family Divided, to show us there is more to someone than meets the eye.
Guerrero’s Sofia is a self-made chica who is working on building a food truck empire. While entrepreneurial Sofia drives Arthur crazy, she’s also the subject of Frank’s affection.
Fans of Superior Donuts will meet Sofia when the season premieres on October 30 at 9:30 p.m.
