It looks as though the end is near for one of Demi Lovato’s fellow X Factor judges.
According to US Weekly, Britney Spears is on her way out of the reality singing competition, which just wrapped up its second season a week ago. An insider told Hot Stuff that the 31-year-old pop star “will get the boot.”
"Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working," the person added. One reason for Spears’ reported firing is her contract – a heavy $15 million.
“They paid all that for her to say 'amazing' and offer half-claps," another insider told Us Weekly. Ouch – that hurt even us. Spears’ judging departure won’t be the first on the show. X Factor has bid farewell to past judges Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and Cheryl Cole and most recently record executive L.A. Reid.
Back in October, our favorite grouch Simon Cowell (also the show’s co-creator) spoke about Spears’ judging performance during a conference call.
He said the bubblegum pop singer had been "a lot better than everybody thought... She's very engaged... She has been, I think, a very, very good judge." We’ll be tuning in to see what kind of judge-shuffling goes down on the show.
Our main concern is, will the 20-year-old pop singer be next to get axed? We really hope not! What do you think?
