Ricky Martin portrayed Che in the Broadway revival of the 2006 West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Evita. The Puerto Rican earned critical claim and a Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance in the production, which earned three Tony Awards nominations, including Best Musical Revival. Following the announcement that Martin would be leaving the production, Evita closed on January 26, 2013 after 337 performances and 26 previews.
