The actress spoke on a panel at the Babson College promoting The 33 and she will reportedly not be returning as Ziva David to say goodbye to Michael Weatherly's character. De Pablo also revealed the reason why she didn't continue working on the show.

"I'm happy to say that I take him with me always and that is one of the greatest things about my job – is that every once in a while, you meet people and you say, 'well, they are going to be in my life forever' and I think he's one of them," she said.

De Pablo used to play former Mossad agent Ziva David and during the panel she spoke very openly about the show runners trying to change her character into something that she wasn't comfortable with at all.

“They were going to send her back to Israel and make her a sad, miserable woman. I said ‘What do I leave all the women that are watching and following the show?’ And I didn’t think it was fair. So I said, ‘Unless someone can really write something fantastic, I won’t go back," she said. “...And scripts not being good enough, I chose not to. Look, I love this character. I worked eight years crafting this character and loving her. I felt or I perceived that the character was not being treated with the respect that I thought she deserved no money in the world (would make me stay).”
