In March, Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler were arrested in West Hollywood. Rutler, 25, was booked for driving under the influence and Christina was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.
Now, it turns out that Rutler wasn't actually driving under the influence. According to TMZ, the L.A. County District Attorney has officially rejected the case against Christina's boyfriend, citing insufficient evidence to prosecute him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that Rutler's blood alcohol content was ultimately determined to be .06 at the time of his arrest which falls under 0.8, California's legal limit to operate a vehicle. Therefore, Rutler will not be charged with a crime.
Aguilera recently opened up to UsWeekly about the difficult year she's had. "It's a life-uprooting time and there have been hiccups along the way that unfortunately the whole world gets to witness and judge," said Aguilera. "In light of the past year, there have been obvious setbacks. I've gone through a really hard divorce, and anyone who has gone through a divorce will speak about how hard the journey is from start to finish."
But all in all, this has been a good week for Aguilera, whose divorce to ex-husband Jordan Bratman was finalized this week. Aguilera will make her debut as a judge on NBC's reality singing competition, The Voice on April 26th.
