Christina Aguilera has filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman, People.com is reporting.
In her divorce petition, which was filed today, Aguilera cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.
TMZ has learned that the couple had a prenuptial agreement. "The divorce petition asks that "Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation" be considered separate property," reports the website.
This news comes just 2 days after a source close to Christina told Usmagazine.com that the Ecuadorian singer, 29, and Bratman, 33, "have been separated for months."
Aguilera, who has asked for joint physical and legal custody of their 2-year-old son Max, told People.com earlier this week that the couple's breakup will have no negative effect on their son. "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."
