Carrie Underwood Apologizes to Jessica Simpson

Carrie Underwood might just be way cattier than we give her credit for. After very publicly instigating a girlfight with her ex-boyfriend Tony Romo's current woman Jessica Simpson, the seemingly innocent doe-eyed country singer has spoken out (again) on the subject. This time, she offers apologies.

In an attempt to make ammends with Jess after implying that Tony still calls her, Carrie tells the December issue of Elle, "It was something that was said in passing, and I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or stir up anything, because I'm just not about all."

Except, she is clearly all about the drama! Otherwise, Carrie would just stop talking to the press about Tony and Jessica altogether. Instead, she soldiers on in her attempt to drive a wedge between them: "I might be mad too if somebody said my boyfriend was calling some other girl," she said. "So I can definitely see where she would be coming from."

Well, first things first. Jessica is probably more ticked off that you called her fat than the claims that you're still chatting up her boyfriend (Jessica has denied that Carrie's comments made her jealous, insisting that she and Tony just "had a laugh" over her claims). Secondly, Carrie, you don't seem to be denying that Tony still calls you, even though Jessica's crack investigating proves he doesn't.

Carrie does, however, insist she hasn't spoken to Tony, "since, like, May." Okay, then. Can we take that as a sign that he's over you, and has moved on with someone exactly like you except, well, with bigger assets?

Give it up, Carrie. Golden globes always trump golden statues.
