Actress-turned-author Cameron Diaz dedicated an entire section of her new health guide The Body Book to her feelings about pubic hair, and it seems she's taking a pro-pubic hair stance. She openly discusses the subject and questions why young women have laser hair removal, comparing the “fad” to changes in style.
“I hear that there’s a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal of all of their lady bits,” she wrote. Diaz concludes that the idea of laser hair removal is a crazy idea because of its permanence.
The 41-year-old actress says in her new book, which encourages women to love their bodies, that pubic hair serves as a “pretty draping” which adds mystery to her sexual encounters. She also reveals that her vagina is “fully dressed”, and she prefers when someone special can “unwrap it” like a gift.
“I know you may think you’ll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won’t,” she continues. “The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon and all fads change, people.”
The cubana also had a more...ahem...practical reason for keeping her hair. "Let's be honest: just like every other part of your body, your labia major is not immune to gravity. Do you really want a hairless vagina for the rest of your life?"
Her advice about pubic hair can be found in her latest creation, The Body Book, a holistic approach to helping women achieve a happy, healthy life. What do you think? Are you a Brazilian wax devotee or do you prefer au naturale?
