Cameron Diaz Signed To Play Miss Hannigan In ‘Annie’ After Sandra Bullock Passes

Cameron Diaz has reportedly signed on to play in Annie, Deadline reports. The 40-year-old A-lister has negotiated with Columbia Pictures to play Miss Hannigan in the upcoming remake of the hit musical.

One juicy tidbit for you; Diaz’s role was previously eyed by Sandra Bullock.

According to Deadline, production for the movie musical being directed by Will Gluck begins in the fall and the film is set for a Dec. 15, 2014 release.

In addition to Diaz, the adorable wunderkind Quvenzhane Wallis from Beasts of the Southern Wild is set to play the iconic Annie, and Academy Award-winning Jamie Foxx will play Daddy Warbucks.

As for Diaz's character, she will definitely be playing a younger version of the Miss Hannigan that Annie fans are used to seeing, according to the Huffington Post

We can’t wait to see Diaz being mean again. Remember when she played a gold-digging, weed-smoking, foul-mouthed middle school teacher in 2011's Bad Teacher?

Yea, Diaz in Annie will be good.
