The insanely talented (and insanely handsome Puerto Rican) Bruno Mars covers GQ’s April 2013 issue!
The 27-year-old musician (born Peter Gene Hernandez) spoke to writer Chris Heath about everything from his simple home (“I don't throw lavish parties or nothing like that, I just want a bed and a TV") to select songs from his new album, Unorthodox Jukebox – in particular, our fave, the racy “Locked Out of Heaven.” If you haven’t already guessed, the song is about sex – a subject that is dotted throughout Mars’ album.
“It feels good to sing about… it feels... sexy,” Mars tells Heath in the cover story. “It puts you in a sexy frame of mind. It feels good to pro-ject. Sex is a great party starter."
Gotta love Mars’ straightforward charm!
Other subjects touched upon in the interview include the art of writing a big song (which Mars emphasized is very difficult to do) and getting busted for cocaine possession back in 2010.
