Despite her impending divorce, those who work with Jennifer Lopez think she’s doing just fine. Randy Jackson, the Puerto Rican superstar's co-judge on American Idol, told People recently that she’s “rising above.”
“She's strong, she's a trooper,” Jackson told the magazine at Las Vegas’ iHeartRadio Music Festival. “She's a great girl. She's amazing.” After seven years of marriage, Lopez announced her split from Puerto Rican salsero Marc Anthony via a joint statement back in July. The former power couple has 3-year-old twins Max and Emme together.
Lopez recently joined Anthony in celebrating his 43rd birthday in Miami – both were spotted together by a pool with their kids. A source told People that everyone looked happy and festive. Lopez has remained positive since the announcement of the divorce. On the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair, Lopez said she will always respect Anthony as a singer and a performer. “Together we could make magic – and we did. He will always be in our lives,” she said. “He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
According to People, Lopez seemed energetic when performing this past weekend. “I don't want to see anyone trying to act cool around here,” she reportedly told the crowd. “I want to see you dancing and jumping and singing and acting like a fool.” Lopez, Jackson, and rocker Steven Tyler are currently conducting auditions for American Idol and should the Bronx-bred singer need anything, Jackson said she would be taken care of.
"Whatever help we need to give, we'll give her," he said.
